2026 WCHS Mini-Grants
Guidelines to apply for a mini-grant
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- A 501 c3 non profit that has been in business for 3 years or longer and projects of a historic or preservation nature. All Wake County based tax exempt non profits are eligible to apply.
- We expect our maximum award to be $1,000 this first year. As our endowment grows, we hope to give out larger amounts in subsequent years.
- Based in Wake County, NC and serving Wake County constituents;
- An annual budget not exceeding $500,000 ;
- Awards cannot be for operating income, but are for special projects only.
- We do not give funds to individuals – although research and writing projects in Wake County are wonderful, we will not give awards for this.
- WCHS Board members may not submit for funding for these grants as it is a conflict of interest. WCHS Board members who serve on boards that have an affiliation with a grant applicant must recuse themselves for the grant decision.
- Our application process opens Feb. 1 and closes Feb 28. We will give out our award (s) at our annual meeting in June.
- Starting FEBRUARY 1, a form appearing below will capture your application for review by the WCHS Board
