WARREN L. BINGHAM
George Washington's Southern Tour
The public is invited to join the society for its January program presented by Warren Bingham.
Warren Bingham has lived his entire life in North Carolina and Virginia and is an enthusiastic student and proponent of both states. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a master’s degree from Hollins College in Virginia, he is especially interested in history, geography, and architecture.
Though a vice-president with the North Carolina Community Foundation in Raleigh, Bingham maintains a vigorous sideline in speaking and writing on topics in history. He has had numerous articles published in newspapers and periodicals, and is a contributor to reference books published by UNC Press, including the just-released Encyclopedia of North Carolina.
Warren is under contract with the Center of American Places of Santa Fe, New Mexico to write, My Kind of Southern Tour, a short book that revisits the route of George Washington’s 1791 presidential tour of Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia.
